FocusLotus Privacy Policy

FocusLotus is committed to protecting your privacy and handling personal information responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, when we share it and the choices available to you.

FocusLotus is operated by Lotus Coaching Services ("FocusLotus," "we," "us" or "our"). By using FocusLotus, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Your name, email address, username and password
• Profile information
• Age or age range
• Tasks, goals, reminders and schedules
• Habits, routines and productivity information
• Academic, career or executive-function goals
• Coaching notes, session-related information and shared resources
• Wellness, mindfulness, emotional-regulation or capacity-tracking information
• Meal-planning information
• Budgeting information that you manually enter
• Messages, feedback and customer-support requests
• Payment and subscription information
• Any other information you choose to enter into the app

Information From Connected Services

If you connect FocusLotus to Google Calendar, D2L or another third-party service, we may receive information authorized through that service's permission screen. Depending on the permissions you approve, this may include your name, email address, calendar names, calendar events, availability, tasks, reminders, scheduling information and account identifiers.

FocusLotus will request only the permissions reasonably necessary for the selected feature. You can disconnect a connected account through FocusLotus settings or the third party's permissions page.

Information received through Google APIs will be used and transferred in accordance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

• Cookies or similar technologies used to maintain your session and improve the app

FocusLotus will not use connected-service information for advertising or purposes unrelated to the feature for which access was granted.

3. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Features

FocusLotus may use automated or artificial-intelligence-supported features to help organize tasks, generate suggestions, summarize information or develop plans. Automated output may be incomplete or inaccurate. You are responsible for reviewing suggestions before relying on them.

FocusLotus uses third-party AI providers, including OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, to power features such as task breakdowns, coaching suggestions, session summaries, journal insights, and career recommendations. When you use these features, the text you enter (such as task titles, descriptions, goals, journal entries, and session notes) is sent to these providers for processing. Each provider may retain or use this information in accordance with its own data retention and privacy policies. FocusLotus does not use your information to train AI models directly.

4. How We Share Information

Service Providers

We may share information with providers supporting cloud hosting, data storage, authentication, payment processing, communications, integrations, analytics, security, technical support or AI-supported features. They may access information only as needed to perform services for FocusLotus.

Other Disclosures

• When you direct or authorize us to do so
• To comply with a subpoena, court order or legal obligation
• To protect the rights, safety or security of FocusLotus, users or others
• To investigate fraud, abuse or security incidents
• As part of a merger, acquisition, financing or business sale

FocusLotus does not sell your personal information.

5. Payments

Payments may be processed by Stripe. FocusLotus does not store complete credit-card numbers. Payment providers process information under their own privacy policies.

6. Data Retention

We retain information as reasonably necessary to maintain accounts, provide services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and enforce agreements. When no longer required, we may delete, deidentify or securely archive it. Backup copies may remain temporarily after account deletion.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, which may include encrypted transmission, access controls, secure authentication and restricted access. No internet service can guarantee complete security.

8. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion or a copy of information; withdraw consent; disconnect accounts; opt out of promotional communications; or appeal certain privacy decisions. 9. Account and Data Deletion

To delete your account and data:

1. Open Settings
2. Select Privacy and Account
3. Select Delete My Account
4. Follow the confirmation instructions

You may also email lotusdrpmd@gmail.com. Certain records may be retained when legally required. Deleting FocusLotus does not delete information independently maintained by a connected service.

10. Connected Accounts and OAuth Access

FocusLotus may use OAuth so you can connect a third-party account without giving FocusLotus your third-party password. We access only approved permissions. You may revoke access at any time. Previously imported information may remain until you delete it or request deletion, unless retention is legally required.

11. Children and Teen Users

FocusLotus is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information. Users ages 13–17 may use FocusLotus only with parent or guardian permission and supervision. Contact lotusdrpmd@gmail.com if you believe a child provided information improperly.

12. Health and Wellness Information

FocusLotus may let users record wellness, emotional-regulation, habit, medication-reminder or other health-related information. It is not a healthcare provider and should not store complete medical records. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, information entered is not protected by HIPAA. Do not use FocusLotus for emergencies; call 911 or an appropriate emergency service.

13. Cookies and Analytics

We may use cookies, local storage and similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember settings, maintain security, understand feature usage and diagnose problems. We use our hosting platform's built-in analytics to understand feature usage and improve the app.

14. Third-Party Links and Services

FocusLotus may link to or integrate with services operated by other companies. We are not responsible for their privacy, security or content practices.

15. SMS Text Messaging and Opt-In

Opt-In Consent

FocusLotus may send automated text (SMS) messages to clients who have explicitly opted in. You opt in by checking the SMS opt-in checkbox, providing your mobile phone number, and enabling SMS notifications in your FocusLotus profile settings. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. You may withdraw consent at any time by replying "STOP" to any message or disabling SMS notifications in your account settings.

Message Types and Frequency

SMS messages include task start reminders, end-of-day task nudges, daily task due reminders, daily encouragement, daily check-in messages, weekly check-in reminders, routine and habit reminders, and appointment or session reminders. Message frequency varies based on your activity and preferences; you may receive up to 3-5 messages per day. You can customize reminder frequency and timing in your account settings.

Opt-Out and Help

Reply "STOP" to any text message to cancel the SMS service and opt out of all future messages. Reply "HELP" for support. You may also disable SMS at any time in your FocusLotus profile settings. Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details.

SMS Data Is Not Shared or Sold

FocusLotus does not share, sell, rent, or trade your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in data with any third party for marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number and SMS consent are used solely to deliver the automated reminders and notifications you have requested through your FocusLotus account. Phone numbers are processed only by our messaging service provider (Twilio) for the sole purpose of delivering SMS messages on FocusLotus's behalf, and under terms that restrict the provider from using your data for any other purpose.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app or legal requirements change. We will revise the Last Updated date and provide additional notice when required.
